Chief Executive Officer

Gordon McClendon

Gordon McClendon began his journey with the Miami-based software company in 2000 in its Systems Products division. After serving as Vice President for 21years, he was named SPI’s CEO in 2022. During Gordon’s decades of service, he has distinguished himself and SPI Software, generating recognition within the vacation ownership industry as its preferred software developer. Under his guidance, SPI’s ability to remain the leader in vacation ownership software – since almost the beginning of the industry itself – has been achieved by maintaining close contacts with customers and adapting their software to keep pace with constantly evolving changes. In 2021, the 11th annual Perspective Magazine Awards named him Industry Leader. He began his career as an actuary and holds a degree in mathematics from Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois. Gordon is active with the American Resort Development Association and served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Resort & Travel Association. Earlier, he ran a major financial derivative trading firm – with offices from New York to Tokyo – and was a founding board member of the after-hours trading system, Globex. He was in a leadership position at Chicago Mercantile Exchange for many years, having the distinction of being elected to the board by the highest vote total ever.

Chief Financial Officer

Steven Schmidt

A graduate of Ursinos College in Collegeville, PA, Steven Schmidt has more than two decades of experience in accounting and controller positions with several companies. He served as SPI’s Chief Financial Officer for nearly 16 years from 2004 to 2019, returning in 2022 as CFO. His primary focus is on the management of SPI’s financial forecasting and analysis, accounting, budgeting, future growth projects and their impact on the bottom line. He also guides in the forecasting of staffing needs. Steven establishes performance metrics, monitors work in progress and guides operating expenses, negotiating with vendors, and contractual billing issues. He is also working to expand SPI’s marketing reach to the global shared hospitality industry, including vacation clubs and major branded timeshare developers. His expertise in serving the hospitality industry complex – combined with his passion for marketing SPI’s services – solidifies the company’s ongoing commitment to the resort industry.

VP, Business Analysis and System Implementation

Kyle Oliver

Kyle is a major executive and leader on the SPI Software team. Kyle and her team are responsible for system setup, conducting user training, providing quality assurance testing and analysis, writing business requirements and functional specification documentation and system support at SPI. Kyle has extensive experience in technology, including thorough knowledge of timeshare business IT, Help Desk operations, and project management.  Prior to joining SPI in 2004, she served as a Business Consultant for Interval Software Services, the software division of Interval International.  Kyle has over 20 years of experience in the timeshare industry and holds an MBA from the University of Miami with specializations in Computer Information Systems and Finance. Previously, she was in the scientific field.

Michel Del Pino - SPI Software

VP, Software Development

Michael Del Pino

Michael is the Vice President of Software Development for SPI and has extensive experience in software development and the timeshare industry. As the head of engineering, Michael focuses on building new products and improving existing products. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Florida International University. Previously, Michael served as the Lead Software Engineer for SPI Software, while in that role he was involved in most of the software customizations and implementations for current clients. Michael is passionate about technology and collaboration among teams.

Vice President of Sales

David Callaghan

David Callaghan is responsible for leading sales, marketing, and business development efforts for SPI Software on a global basis. Previously, he led the consultancy business MEC Global, providing business development support for a broad range of domestic and international clients, including SPI Software.

During his three decades in the hospitality industry, David served in several operational, sales and marketing roles within the exchange and rentals division of Marriott Vacations Worldwide, culminating with direct responsibility for sales, business development and client servicing in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean for Interval International. Prior to this, he served as Purchasing Officer with Ryanair in his native Ireland.

David has been recognized on three separate occasions with a prestigious ARDA Circle of Excellence (ACE) Award and served as a board member of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Education Foundation, where he was recognized as Allied Member of the Year for his philantropic efforts in support of eductaional scholarships. He has been a speaker at many travel, tourism, and real estate-related conferences, including ULI, Lodging, ALIS and NYU.

Business Analysis & System Implementation Manager

Marisol Montalvo

Marisol has over 29 years of vacation ownership industry experience.  Marisol’s background is in Travel and Tourism where she worked for 2 years prior to entering the vacation ownership industry.  She was instrumental in the design and documentation of numerous software development cycles while working for Interval International’s IT department.

Marisol is responsible for conducting new client analysis for setup and configuration, project management, client implementation, user training, providing quality assurance testing and analysis and writing business requirements, functional specification and user manual documentation at SPI.   She is proficient in advanced computer skills and testing methods and has considerable project management experience.

Marisol graduated from Bay State College in Boston, MA with an AA degree in Hospitality Management. 

Business Analysis & System Implementation Manager

Jillian Berntsen

Jillian joined the SPI team in 2019 with nearly 20 years of prior experience in the Timeshare industry. Prior to representing SPI as a Business Analyst and System Implementor, Jillian facilitated Timeshare organizations with Contracts processing, Commissions management, Owner Services Operations and Business Analytics. Jillian has extensive experience in Business Analytics programs including SQL Reporting Services and Power BI.

Jim Till

Jim has over 20 years of experience doing software implementations and training within the Vacation Ownership industry.  This includes working as a consultant to resorts, an employee for specific developers/resorts, and with SPI whose software is used by a great number of companies throughout the industry.  Jim’s educational background is in finance and accounting which explains his analytical thought process as well as attention to detail. Jim graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN with a BS degree in Finance.
